This past Saturday I spent the day at the Fort Greene Brooklyn Flea Market. Imagine my surprise (and delight) when I came across a bona fide pie stand! Rachel Gladfelter of Rachel's Pies was serving up slices of fresh Peach Tart, Key Lime, and ice cold Chocolate Cream pie with a salty-sweet pretzel and dulce de leche crust. Yum! As she and I both agreed, "Pie is perfect!" So don't feel like you have to wait for a special occasion to put in an order for one of her home-made specialty pies. When it comes to pie, every day is special.
